Dear Anne, WE are so sorry for your loss. You, the family and Dean will be in our thoughts and prayers. We remember especially how good you both were to Mary and have thought very often about the beautiful "90th" birthday party you had for her before we moved to North Carlonia. God Bless, Terri and Jim

A man's success is measured in many ways throughout life. Although I had only met Dean a few times, I know his Son Russ very well and have heard many great stories about Dad. Russ and I are as close to brothers as two non-relatives can be. I can honestly say, if I do half the job of raising my Son as Dean did Russ, I will consider myself successful.
Rest in peace Dean.

Dear Mrs. Brunke:
We are so deeply sorry for your loss. I remember you sharing a little bit about your husband in Home Ec at St. Clement. What a blessing you have been to each other and your children.
( I wasn't your best student. But, I have come to appreciate the love that goes into making a home for your family. These things I learned from you and my mom. Thank you.
I bet you made everyday wonderful for Mr. Brunke because everything you do is done with much grace)

Dean was a good friend and I never heard him ever complain except when he got that Queen of spades playing Hearts. So sorry to hear of his Death.

Mr. Brunke, A wonderful gentleman who made me feel welcome in his loving home. His humor and attention made the afternoon and dinner enjoyable. His admirable social grace has been passed to his son Russel.

I first met Dean when he and Ann worked together at Schweitzer Real Estate in the mid 1980's. I will always remember them - the inseparable duo - touring homes as a team, taking floor time as a team, and sharing a pizza on Friday nights in the office before closing up. Ann you are so lucky to have shared your life with your best friend for over fifty years. Dean touched many people, and despite his constant pain, was always ready with a smile. Godspeed Dean.

Anne, We (Daniel and I) am so sorry to hear about Dean. We will miss his great smile at the orchid meetings and his hearty," I'm doing fine!" when asked. Please accept our condolences in this sad time. Moira and Daniel Konopka

Dean was a stalwart of the Michigan Orchid Society and will be sorely missed. Not only for all the generous donation of his time, particularly as a past editor of our newsletter, but for his humor and good cheer. I especially admire how he dealt with his health issues, not letting them stop him from coming, participating, and enjoying the meetings and special events. I will miss our conversations at meetings. I am glad I had the opportunity of knowing him.

We express our deepest sympathy to Ann and your family. You both were long time members of the Michigan Orchid Society. Your work as former editors is greatly appreciated. Ed says he's going to miss Dean and the chats that they shared at the meetings. Dean will be missed.

Dean, you will be missed at our MI orchid society meetings. Who will sit in that back chair now? You've done some great work, and now your "Labors are done". Good job, well don.
